Drops of Insanity is a cascading video slot game from Play’n GO featuring a 5×3 main reel set with 10 paylines, alongside a special 5×3 top reel with no paylines. Winning symbols are removed, and new symbols drop down to fill the reels. The cascade sequence continues until no new winning combinations are formed. Symbols from the top reel drop onto the main reels during cascades.
Game Rules
The game features three special symbols: WILD, SCATTER, and SPAWN. These symbols appear only on the top reel, where they are partially visible. Regular symbols on the top reel remain fully hidden until they drop onto the main reels.
Multiplier Meter
The game includes a MULTIPLIER meter with three charge levels that can be filled. When the third charge level is filled, a +1 multiplier is added to the meter; this accumulates to multiply winnings from any subsequent wins in the round. At the end of each round, the charges and the multiplier reset. Charges and the multiplier carry over into Free Spins and do not reset until the Free Spins session ends.
The WILD symbol appears only on the top reel and substitutes for all symbols to form winning combinations. Each WILD that drops onto the main reels adds one charge to the multiplier meter.
The SCATTER symbol appears only on the top reel. Each SCATTER that drops onto the main reels adds three charges to the multiplier meter. Additionally, any SCATTER already present on the main reels when a cascade is triggered adds one charge to the meter. Landing 3 SCATTER symbols on the main reels triggers 10 FREE SPINS. During FREE SPINS, landing another 3 SCATTER symbols on the main reels re-triggers an additional 10 FREE SPINS. The maximum number of FREE SPINS that can be achieved is 120.
The SPAWN symbol appears only on the top reel during the base game. When the SPAWN symbol drops onto the main reels, the SPAWN feature activates once there are no more cascades. The SPAWN feature removes the SPAWN symbol plus an average of 7 random regular symbols from the reels, triggering a new CASCADE.
Creature Feature
The CREATURE feature is available during FREE SPINS. It can be randomly activated after any FREE SPIN and is guaranteed to activate after every fourth FREE SPIN that does not increase the MULTIPLIER. When the CREATURE feature activates, it removes an average of 9 random regular symbols from the reels, triggering a CASCADE.
Information
Winnings are paid out on selected paylines in accordance with the information in the paytable and game rules. If wins occur on multiple paylines during a single game round, all winnings are added together. Winnings from game modes (such as FREE SPINS), bonus games, and/or SCATTER symbols (where applicable) are added to payline winnings. All winning combinations are paid out at the end of the game round. FREE SPINS mode uses the same bet and number of selected lines as the game round that triggered the mode (unless otherwise specified). The bet cannot be changed during the current game round. For winning symbol combinations, any payline combination is paid out provided there are no gaps. Only the highest-value combination is paid per active payline.
