About the Game

Introduction

Baccarat is one of the oldest and most popular casino games in the world. Particularly popular with high rollers and Asian players, it is both simple and fun to play. By betting on the Player or Banker, you have the option of dealing cards on the side with your bet. The goal of baccarat is to predict which side (Player or Banker) will win with a hand that is closest to 9.

How to Play

To start the game, select the bet amount to bet on the player, banker or tie. You can place or change your bets while the betting window is open. The dealer then deals 4 initial cards in the following order. The first and third cards are on the player’s side, and the second and fourth cards are on the banker’s side. If either side requires a third card, the dealer deals an additional card according to the third card rule described below. When all the required cards have been dealt for each hand, the game round is complete. The side with the hand value closest to 9 wins. If both hands have the same value, the game round ends in a tie. Winning bets will be highlighted and you will receive payouts according to the type of bets you made. Your winnings will be displayed on the screen. At the end of the game round, all cards on the table are collected and discarded, and betting opens for the next game round.

Card Values

The game is played with 8 standard 52-card decks. In the basic game of baccarat, only the numerical value of each card matters: the suit of the cards (diamonds, hearts, spades, or clubs) does not matter.

The value of the player and banker side is calculated by adding the points of the cards. The maximum possible point value in baccarat is 9. The value of each hand is calculated by discarding ten numbers in a hand that is otherwise worth 10 or more.

For example:

  • 5+5=10-10-0
  • 8+7-15-10-5
  • J+K=0
  • 1+5+8=14-10=4
  • 8+Q=8
  • 9+918-10-8

The Third Card Rule

There are three cases where a round of play ends after 4 cards have been dealt (Small Hand) without the need to deal additional cards:

  • The Player’s or Banker’s first 2 cards total 8 or 9 points (Natural Hand).
  • The Player has 6 points and the Banker has 7 points, or vice versa.
  • A tie is 6, 7, 8, or 9 points.

If the Player and Banker are dealt an initial 2-card hand of 0-7, the Third Card Rule is used to determine whether a third card should be dealt to each of them. The Player always goes first.

For the Player’s hand to draw:

If the Player’s two cards total:Behaviour
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5Player draws the third card
6, 7Player stands
8, 9 (Natural)Both hands stand

For the Banker’s hand to draw:

If the Player’s first two cards total 6 or 7 points, and the Banker’s first two cards total 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 points, the Banker must draw an additional card.

Squeeze

In Squeeze Baccarat, the cards are dealt face down. When you place a bet on the Player or Banker, you have the option to squeeze the cards on the side with your bet. To increase the tension, separate the edges or corners of the cards to slowly reveal their value over a time limit.

Pressing/tapping the cards on the opposite side will reveal them instantly. If you bet on a tie, any side bet, or no bet at all, you can choose how the cards are revealed for both the Banker and Player.

Baccarat Main Bets

The basic bets in baccarat are Player, Banker and Tie. The hand with the highest total card value wins. If the Player and Banker hands have the same value, it is a tie and you win if your bet was on a tie. Bets can be placed on the betting grid displayed on the screen.

  • A winning bet on the Player pays at odds of 1:1.
  • A winning bet on the Banker pays at odds of 0.95:1.
  • A winning bet on a tie pays at odds of 8:1.

In the event of a tie, bets on the Player and Banker do not lose and are pushed. Bets on the Player and Banker betting spots may be subject to the opposite betting lock.

Baccarat Side Bets

To add to the excitement, you can now also place bets on side bets to increase your chances of winning:

  • Player Pair
  • Banker Pair
  • Either Pair
  • Perfect Pair
  • Player Bonus
  • Banker Bonus

Player Pair and Banker Pair

A Player’s Pair bet wins if the two starting cards in the Player’s hand make a pair, and a Banker’s Pair bet wins if the two starting cards in the Banker’s hand make a pair. Any type of pair counts for both Player and Banker hands:

  • A perfect pair is two identical cards (for example, two kings of hearts).
  • A colored pair is two cards of the same rank and color, but different suits (for example, 5 of hearts and 5 of diamonds).
  • A mixed pair is two cards of different suits and colors, but the same rank (for example, 7 of spades and 7 of diamonds).

A winning bet on any type of Player or Banker Pair pays 11:1. Both or just one Player Pair or Banker Pair side bet may be placed in a single game round. You may bet on Player Pair and Banker Pair without first placing the main bet. *After 60 game rounds, the Player Pair and Banker Pair side bets will be disabled.

Either Pair

An Any Pair bet wins if the two starting cards of one or both sides – the player or the banker – form a pair of cards of the same rank or letter. A winning bet on Any Pair pays odds of 5:1. You can bet on Any Pair without first placing the main bet.

Perfect Pair

The Perfect Pair bet wins if the two starting cards of one or both sides – the Player or the Banker – form a perfect pair of cards (of the same rank or letter and the same suit). A winning bet on a Perfect Pair pays out at odds of 25:1. You can bet on a Perfect Pair without first making a main bet.

*After 60 game rounds, the Perfect Pair and Either Pair side bets will be disabled.

Player Bonus and Banker Bonus

A player wins the Player Bonus or Banker Bonus side bets by making a natural hand of 8 or 9 or by winning at least four points. A player wins the Player Bonus or Banker Bonus based on the following outcomes:
