About the Game

Prize Ladder by Northern Lights is a 5-reel, 4-row slot machine. The goal is to spin the reels until a winning combination appears. Winning combinations are highlighted on the reels and pay out.

Scatter Symbols

Scatter symbols appear only on reels 2, 3, and 4. In Rolling Reels™, scatter symbols do not disappear. Scatter symbols can appear in the main game and Super Spins. Scatter symbols do not award payouts.

Rolling Reels™ Wins

Rolling Reels™ are active in the main game, free spins, and Super Spins. Rolling Reels™ is activated by any line win. Rolling Reels™ allows for multiple consecutive wins. Winning symbols from combination wins are removed to make room for new symbols. Scatter symbols that appear remain on the reels for the duration of the feature. The feature continues until there are no winning combinations remaining on the reels.

Prize Ladder™

Rolling Reels™ trigger a Prize Ladder™ for each symbol. Each symbol, except the Scatter and the Castle, has its own Prize Ladder™. For each cascade of symbols, the associated Prize Ladder™ increases by one level. Each Prize Ladder™ win increases up to 2x the bet. The Prize Ladder™ resets after each spin unless held by a Castle. The Prize Ladder™ remains the same for each bet.

Castle Symbol

The Castle symbol appears only in the main game. It can also appear after a cascade in the main game. A Castle symbol locks the Prize Ladder™ of each symbol until the next main game spin. At the start of the next spin, the lock is removed from the Prize Ladder™. Free Spins can be triggered during the same spin as the Castle Bonus. The Castle Bonus is triggered after the Free Spins. Locked Prize Ladders™ from the main game are cleared after the bonus ends.

Super Spins

Fill the reels with 1 or 5 identical Star symbols to trigger Super Spins. The activating symbol and any Scatter symbols remain on the reels. Each unfixed position spins with a trigger, blank, or Scatter symbol. Additional symbols and Scatter symbols that land are fixed on the reels. Super Spins continue until no symbols land. For each Super Spin, the Prize Ladder™ increases by 1 level. After Super Spins, all wins are paid out. Star symbols appear with symbols only on reels 1 and 5 in the main game. Star symbols appear with the same symbol on either reel 1 or reel 5. Star symbols do not appear in the Rolling Reels™ feature. Super Spins can trigger free spins. Super Spins are only triggered in the main game.

Free Spins

Landing 3 Scatter symbols on reels 2, 3, and 4 triggers 8 free spins. During free spins, Prize Ladder™ progress is maintained for the entire bonus. The same bets are used as in the spin that triggered the feature. Free spins are played automatically. Free spins cannot be retriggered. The Prize Ladder™ is reset at the end of free spins. Locked Prize Ladders™ from the main game are played after the bonus ends. Some settings and features may not be available in this game.

Boost Bet

Two boost bet options are available:

Combination Payout Rules

A combination is a series of adjacent symbols lining up on the reels. A player wins in the Prize Ladder game when identical symbols appear in adjacent positions in a combination. Combination wins are calculated from left to right and right to left, starting from the first and last reels, respectively. The game includes 1024 combinations.
