After all winnings from the side bets have been paid, the game returns to the rules of Blackjack. At the beginning of each round, the player places bets in Bet Places. The goal of the game is to win money by creating card totals higher than the “dealer’s” but not exceeding 21, or by standing on a total in the hope that the “dealer” loses.
Number cards are counted by their number. Face cards are counted as 10, and aces are counted as 1 or 11 depending on the values of the other cards. The value of a hand is the sum of the cards. If the total exceeds 21, the hand is considered bust.
STAND: If the first two cards are acceptable, the player may stand and the dealer moves to the next betting spot.
HIT: If the player wants more cards to improve their hand total, the dealer will deal more cards, one at a time, until the player either “busts” (goes over 21) or decides to stand. There is no limit to the number of cards a player can take (other than going over 21 total).
DOUBLE DOWN: If the player’s hand total is favorable but they need to take an additional card, the player may double the initial bet and the dealer will only deal 1 additional card.
SPLIT: If a player is dealt a pair (2 cards of the same value), he has the option to make a second bet and the dealer will split the two cards so that each card becomes the first card of two new hands. This also applies to picture cards and 10s. For example, a player is allowed to split a hand consisting of a King and a Jack because they both have the same value, although they are not actually a pair. Make a second bet equal to your first.
If a player is dealt a pair of Aces, he has the option to SPLIT following the rule above, and only for these pairs the player cannot HIT or DOUBLE. The player automatically stands.
DEAL: When a player can choose to HIT or STAND, he can also decide to DEAL, which means that the player does not want to play with this card. By pressing the SURRENDER button (flag icon), the player will receive back 50% of the bet amount, and the remaining 50% will be taken from the dealer.
In case a player splits the card, we will offer the option to DOUBLE for both hands (with the classic rule of 1 card per hand)
After the player has finished playing, the “dealer’s” hand is decided by drawing cards until the hand reaches a total of 17 “soft” or higher (17 “soft” is made with an Ace, which has a value of 11). The “dealer” never doubles, splits or surrenders.
If the dealer busts (hand is worth more than 21), all remaining Bet Places hands win. If the dealer does not bust, each remaining bet wins if its hand is higher than the dealer’s, and loses if it is lower. If the dealer and the player have the same hand, we have a “Push”, the player gets his bet amount back.
Wins are paid at even odds, with the exception of Player Blackjacks, which are traditionally paid at 3 to 2. Blackjack games usually offer an additional bet called Insurance, a player can buy “Insurance”, this costs 50% of the bet, it pays 2:1 if the dealer has a Blackjack, the game ends and the player wins.
